Regulation Center

The public health regulation center is a system designed to efficiently regulate population care within the Unified Health System (SUS). This system aims to streamline and ensure quality in services of varying scales, whether for scheduling exams or handling urgent and emergency cases. The regulation center oversees and guarantees these services, preventing fraud and negligence in the needs of approximately 70% of the population who rely exclusively on SUS, according to the Ministry of Health.

In 2001, ACONE was founded and contributed to the implementation of the Regulation Center in the state of Sergipe, creating the virtual SUS card, which allows citizens to manage their procedures with a click. The era of long lines at Bahia and Geru streets came to an end.

Regulation Center and Public Health Management

Public health management utilizes the regulation center to guide work, identify areas needing adjustment, organization, and development. Given the scale of SUS in a country of continental proportions, the regulation center serves as a beacon to illuminate areas in need of improvement. Undoubtedly, a great ally for health managers is the regulation center, which, linked to technology use, can bring significant advancements. It is proven that computerized regulation centers in the country perform better and are more organized with the use of electronic health records.

This is where ACONE stands out. We offer a solution tailored to your needs, without requiring the full package of our solutions. Your municipality can contract only what is necessary to improve its health management.

Treatment Protocols Used in the Regulation Center

In practical public health terms, when discussing the regulation center, we can refer to a clear example: the Manchester Triage Protocol, an international treatment protocol. The regulation center has adopted this protocol to optimize and organize hospital urgent and emergency care. Categorized by colors (blue, green, yellow, orange, and red), where blue classifies non-urgent cases and red indicates emergency cases, the protocol acts as a filter for controlling and organizing hospital care based on case severity.

The Regulation Center and Its Aspects Within SUS

As mentioned, the regulation center is responsible for organizing and optimizing hospital and related care. Additionally, it oversees two other pillars of the country’s public health: health care regulation and access regulation.

Health care regulation involves hiring staff, companies, and locations to facilitate population care, evaluating service performance, management assessment, epidemiological surveys, among other functions. It also manages registration in the National Health Card (CNS).

Access regulation covers relationships between units of different complexity levels at national, state, and municipal levels, following necessary protocols for these connections. These protocols fall under access regulation, including scheduling appointments and specialized procedures.
